WEST END, Tortola, VI - In his ongoing efforts to give back to the community as is the case for 10 years in the Virgin Islands, Deputy Speaker and Territorial At-Large Member Hon. Neville A. Smith continues his effort will be embarking on a program to provide meals for Christmas.

Come Christmas day December 25, 2022, Hon Smith will be providing hot meals for the needy in District 1, the district he has adopted following the April 28, 2022 arrest of the former district representative and Premier Andrew A. Fahie.

Hon Smith a kind man

Hon Smith who is known for his kindness, has already reached out to the needy in the district and has the meal distribution set up for needy residents.

The Legislator is doing this kind deed out of pocket, through the use of his personal funds as Members of the House of Assembly have been stripped of any assistance grant to help residents in need.

Hon Smith noted that he has also received the support of the D'CoalPot owners, a restaurant in District 1 to assist in cooking the hot meals.

The removal of any funds from elected Members was one of the recommendations coming out of a reportedly biased one-man commission of inquiry, led by a retired British Judge Gary R. Hickinbottom.

Honourable Smith previously went into his personal funds to purchase hams and turkeys for some residents where the distribution of the meats commenced on December 22, 2022, throughout many places on Tortola.

Thank you Hon. Neville Smirh, Territorial elected Minister for the "Hot Christmas Meal"but was it only D1 voters of our 9 districts voted you in power as their representative? Have you done the same the past previous years? No! You did not, as far as I know.

    Memory refreshment for short-minded people.

After hurricanes Erma, and Maria, especiall Erma, vastly devastated our country's economy, a number of deaths included, a number of Charitable Organizations led mostly by white people gave, especially to our hungry children meals at their expence. Can not all our eclected do the same at christmas time? Yes they can, but greediness and selfish ambitions have hindard them.

You have the right to abstain.

Some comments are inhumane. District one has been with out a leader for months don't you think they are hurting. A meal is nothing to give and make a big fuss over. You who think that it is a bad idea then put your money where your mouth is and help him to bring it to every district. Set of hypocrites and inhumane people. Christ is about love that is why he came into the world go spread some of his love to all you meet. Pull out something out of your pocket or bank and help the helpless then your living would not be in vain. Peace

Higginbottom came and took away the funds that needy VI Landers could have benefited from including feeding their families in this economically depressed economy and you still want Britain to take over. Really? God bless you bro Smith.
