ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Opposition Leader Hon Marlon A. Penn (R8), over the Christmas holidays, donated a quantity of ham and turkey, along with cases of water and food boxes, to families in both the 7th and 8th Districts.

The Opposition Leader via a release today, December 31, 2021, said the donations came as families used the holiday season to come together for celebrating, socialising, and reconnect.

Hon Penn added, “I know that this year has been an extremely difficult time for many families and my District Committee, and I felt the need to provide a little help to persons in our community by providing holiday ham, turkey, food boxes containing dry goods and cases of water.”

Free ice cream for children

On Boxing Day, December 26, 2021, the Opposition Leader partnered with Ice Treats to deliver free ice cream and smiles to children in the 7th and 8th Districts.

“My District Committee and I will continue to do our part and implement initiatives to support our residents and aid in the progress of our communities,” he added.

Hon Penn also reminded persons in the community of the recently launched District Community Newsletter aimed at bringing awareness to some of the root problems across the district.

The Opposition Leader said the newsletter will be available at the District Office, located next to the Harbour View Restaurant in East End, as well as at various restaurants, bakeries and supermarkets in the district.

How come he did not give the premier credit for providing the funds for this?

Stop being so negative, it does not matter who the funds came from. The main thing is the funds were use in a positive way to help the people in the community.

It is not the Premier's money so why would he give recognition/credit to him for monies that is for to the district. Come on, you guys have to stop being so petty because you may not agree with someone politically.

He do not have to give the premier credit, the money did not come from the premier pocket, its tax payers money.

Political tactics at works:. Take enough from others so that at Christmas time you can give a little of what you have taken from them.
Question: was this a customary practice before one gained political power or is this political sale pitch at work? They that give freely from the heart expecting nothing in return has gave the gift of love. We are all guilty, and somime have violated the Godly principles of genuine giving unconditionally.

Hon. Penn always do stuff like this in our community and he also helps residents. Not because it isn’t always posted means that he’s not doing anything.

Well, we can’t complain about the Government making donations to needy persons during the pandemic then. Unless Marlon paid entirely out of his own pocket.

Marlon this is good what you did sharing food and water, but you stop people of God from praising God and preach his word on the beach ,God will deal with you in his own time, nothing beats prayers, you should not do what you did to God servant, what ever you sow you will surely reap you will get what coming to you
