PURCELL ESTATE, Tortola VI – Sixth District Representative in the House of Assembly (HoA), Honourable Alvera Maduro-Caines, has called on residents of Purcell Estate, to cooperate with the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force’s (RVIPF) investigation, into the deadly shooting on Friday, August 10, 2018, which claimed the life of 25-year-old, Jerry Casto-Felix.

The appeal by the Sixth District Representative came hours after Casto-Felix, was gunned down and word began circulating of his demise.

According to the HoA member—Ms Maduro-Caines—if the people of Purcell, on Tortola in the Virgin Islands (VI), “want to maintain a safe community I encourage you to assist the police with their investigation.”

Ms Maduro-Caines, in a social media message related that “the nature of this crime is one so, that it’s possible that there’s some information that can lead to quickly solving this crime.

Casto-Felix was – who lives next to the Delta Petroleum Service Station—was shot dead with a single bullet to the back of his head, around 8:00 PM, on the evening of Friday, August 10, 2018 and died immediately.

According to the HoA member—in her pleas to residents of the community, to cooperate with the RVIPF— “we can choose the type of communities we want to live in, by choosing not to shield criminal activity nor shelter criminals.”

      Last year when she was walking through the district with the other backbenchers, was not election time. Yes, I saw them and had talks with them. They were just checking in on the people but I guess you and others would say you did not see them (as usual). Thank God it have more for this lady than against her.

    You ain't see work taking place on the road? What does be wrong with you all? Knowing Caines if she had enough personal money she would have fixed it herself. You all need understand how politics works. If money is not approved for capital projects how can they get done? I have heard her several times in the house arguing for that particular road and stone have issue to be dealt with. Some of you all talking about cleaning up. Show some national pride and take a shovel and rake and help clean up your district. Why
    your rep and Gov’t has to do everything. Some talking about her passing through.. so because you ain't see her means she did not pass through
