BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI– Current Sixth District Representative Hon Alvera Maduro-Caines has blasted her political opponent, the controversial Myron V. Walwyn, as only ever contributing paint to two basketball courts in the district over the years.

“Mr. Walwyn and I sat together for years discussing my plans for our district and as I try to recall what he helped with in the district, only a contribution to paint the Baugher’s Bay and Purcell Estate Basketball courts come to mind,” she claimed in a Facebook post on March 26, 2023.

Further, Hon Maduro-Caines accused her opponent, the former Education Minister, of using paid social media to run a petty campaign against her.

“The Facebook posts, series of videos, and paid planted news stories, are trite and childish. After serving the people for 12 years, I am fully aware and capable of being honest about the things we have to bring to fruition, once and for all, in the district. With the VIP’s support I can now fully reimagine, reconstruct and reposition our District!,” she said.

Meanwhile, Hon Maduro-Caines said despite Mr Walwyn’s tirade against her, she will continue to share plans for the people of "District 6/Z6NE", for the next four years.

Waywn has distinct & petty brand of politics - Hon Maduro-Caines

“I’ll allow Mr Walwyn to continue with his distinct and petty brand of politics; it’s a distraction from what the people need and deserve at this time,” she added.

“While we should all think highly of ourselves, to believe that you’re the only one thinking about improving the District or in my case, continuing to build on what I have already started, is the lowest form of human expression.”

Hon Maduro-Caines said after reviewing her plans with Mr Walwyn over a number of years, it is likely that his plans were created based on what she was progressing on, including plans that he stifled and has found value in them now.

“Our district gains with Maduro-Caines and all my plans are gains that the district needs and will receive once I’m re-elected. Let’s continue to work for the good of the people and present ideas of which the people will decide who should implement them come 24th April 2023,” she added.

Through all the mess with Andrew she had no voice, could she not discern the wickedness of her former boss, praising God & saying & doing devilish things, or did the 300.000 that the got silenced her tongue & Penn?

Alvera, both of you are petty. Please your constant quoting of scriptures is not becoming. Why you feel it's necessary every day to continue with this. Leave it alone and move forward in winning the upcoming election. Once again, you had 3 terms to do all the Alvera-Achievable things you listed on the flier. By the way, this is the first time in your 3 terms have we ever heard you having your documents translated in Spanish. I like you as an individual, but your time is up. And, I am a resident of Zone6. Myron All the Way!

      1. Alvera needs a new PR person (can’t have PR working between parties)

      2. These puns sound like a member of the VIP committee who is always using puns

      4. When quoting scripture not just Alvera REMEMBER that God is NOT the author of confusion:

1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace - as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.

what some of those talking should understand; the districts where the representatives are Ministers does far better than the others

the development of our territory weighs heavily on the minister for communications and works also the minister of finance

the future of our grandchildren relies on the minister for education

all of those on the microphone talking this and talking that also promising this and promising that; U will find out once elected they are not in any position to keep the talk or the promise

Alvera must only speak to Baughers Bay. The rest of the district don't want to hear you now.

They are on to my run … stay out the race boss, you going down. Bad vibes and divisiveness got you my run, you still have not learned!

They people will choose to good lady over your offensive disrespect any day. You can’t handle a school wall, you broke up NDP, all because you wanted to overstep them ones who pave the way for you.

You can’t beat the case and win this election and get the British to swear you in. That’s our bet.

That Facebook post was not written by her and Alvera needs to stop blaming others for her shortcomings in District 6. I think her and her team are missing the point that if she did not attempt to do those initiatives she made mentioned of in her speech then why make promises now? Alvera served under two different administrations, and if only now she can think of those initiatives then she is the problem then and not the administrations.

I will vote for an Independent Candidate running against these two NDP Candidates. 6th District needs someone to be there on behalf of All Constituents in IT. Not only for Supporters, Family and Friends. If only We could find that Person.
