Hon Lorna G. Smith OBE hands over keys to new bus for VG track club

The keys for the bus were handed over to the track club on September 25, 2025, by At Large Representative and Junior Minister for Financial Services and Economic Development Hon Lorna G. Smith, OBE.
“This van will help transport Virgin Gorda’s talented athletes to training and competitions, supporting their dreams on and off the track,” Hon Smith commented.
Raw Skillz Track Club’s success hailed
The Junior Minister expressed “special thanks” to Coach Erwin S. Telemaque aka ‘Coach Redz’ for his dedication to the club’s success, nurturing talent and building character through sport.
“His commitment to youth development is evident in every athlete who steps onto the track with purpose and pride,” Hon Smith said.
Further speaking, on behalf of the North Sound Foundation, Hon Smith said she was especially proud of past athletes like Shaniyah Caul, now a Physical Education teacher at Bregado Flax Secondary School, and Kaelyaah Liburd, who holds the National 400m Record, and is currently studying at Florida State University.
“Thanks to the hard-working committee of Raw Skillz and thanks to VI Motors for their support of the Club. Proud to support Raw Skillz Track Club’s journey!” Hon Smith stated.
North Sound Foundation
The North Sound Foundation (NSF) was founded in 2006 by Oil Nut Bay visionary David V. Johnson and his wife Pamela Johnson as a not-for-profit organisation.
The primary focus of the NSF, according to its website, is the children and youth of the VI.
In 2017, as a response to the rapid deterioration of the Virgin Gorda community because of Hurricane Irma, the initiative was broadened to include homeowners at Oil Nut Bay and other community-minded individuals and corporations.
