ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Honourable Julian Fraser, RA (R3), the Deputy Premier and Minister responsible for Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, is the Acting Premier of the Virgin Islands, for three days at least.

The veteran legislator is holding the steering wheel for Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), who is attending the 4th Committee Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Premier Wheatley will be absent from the Territory from Monday, October 6, 2025, to Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Meanwhile, Honourable Fraser's acting appointment is in accordance with Section 55(1) of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order, 2007, which states: "If the Premier is expected to be absent from the Virgin Islands for more than forty-eight hours, the Governor shall authorise the Deputy Premier to perform the functions of the office of Premier; and the Governor shall revoke this authority on the return to the Virgin Islands of the Premier."
