ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Deputy Premier and Minister responsible for Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, Hon Julian Fraser, RA (R3), has been appointed to carry out the duties of Premier during the period 21st to 25th August, 2025.

Hon Fraser’s acting appointment is in accordance with Section 55(1) of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order, 2007, which states: "If the Premier is expected to be absent from the Virgin Islands for more than forty-eight hours, the Governor shall authorise the Deputy Premier to perform the functions of the office of Premier; and the Governor shall revoke this authority on the return to the Virgin Islands of the Premier”.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), is currently in Barbados for CARIFESTA XV. 

Premier Wheatley, accompanied by Junior Minister for Tourism and Culture, is leading the Virgin Islands’ (VI) 53-member delegation for the event, which has been described as “the greatest celebration of culture, creativity, and connection”.

CARIFESTA XV is being held under the theme ‘Caribbean Roots. Global Excellence’.

      In two yesrs all our troubles will be over, All these people who did nothing to provress the country only help themselves will be going home to rest and the country will finally can get fresh air..

    53 !! Persons to Barbados about 40,000.00$ for the flights. At least 50,000.00 for the hotel and … ohh yes, de ppl dem need to eat too. About $120,000.00 for fun, when the roads, sewage, hospital and much more urgently needs money. And may I add we old people get no pension raise but have to pay at the checkout just as much as if get a fat paycheck. Very disturbing.

    ‘Tis alll yuh who put dem in. When election is drawing close they will remember people like you and all the rest of the seniors because they will be trying to buy votes. For right now, they couldn’t care less because the VIP agenda comes first. Very Inconsiderate People.
