BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI– Social and political commentator and ZBVI 780 AM talk show host, Mr Claude O. Skelton-Cline has declared that the political career of Hon Julian Fraser RA (R3) may soon be over should he face a serious challenge for the Third District seat at the 2023 polls.

Skelton-Cline, during the December 6, 2022, edition of his talk show, said he believes the sun has already set for the 72-year-old Hon Fraser in the District.

Opportunity available for D3 Seat- Skelton-Cline

“I think Honourable Fraser, a good man, has done all he's ever going to do in that district. He's Served them well for some 20 odd years now. [But] I think the sun has set, and there’s an opportunity here,” he added.

That opportunity, he said, is one where Dr Arliene T. Penn or even Aaron F. Parillon could lay down the gauntlet and take the D3 seat away from Hon Fraser in the 2023 polls.

Hon Fraser, however, has not given any indication that he plans to retire from politics or give up the seat without a fight, however, he said the job remains a tough one.

“I do everything that I think a politician should do especially one who wishes to be re-elected. Today, I do the same thing I've been doing [for] 22 years,” he said during an interview on his political career in 2021.

Speaking to Real Talk host, Karia J. Christoper in February of 2021, he added, “I think when I first got elected I was full of energy, all excited, eager to please and I think I did that my first time. It got a little rougher as time went on, changes of government, but after a while, you begin to learn the various techniques and use them to advantage,” he said.

Hon Fraser not ready to give up!

According to the veteran legislator, he is still working hard as he did in the first phases of his political career and had a message for detractors who accused him of not doing enough.

“There are people who run around saying that I have done nothing, I'm not doing anything, and I challenge them to show me another district where something is happening that's not happening in my district,” he told Mrs Christopher.

He further added that he will continue to focus on his ‘stronghold’ as a representative of the Third Electoral District, with a certainty of being re-elected until he no longer wants the job.

I agree. Aaron Parillon seems like a good, fresh option.

I think it's time for a new face Hon. Fraser has let the 3rd go to dogs. Someone with a new Vision is needed at this point. Nothing has changed under him and nothing will if they don't get him out. Only few get the benefit when he's in control.

Your uncle Ronnie was rejected twice so why dont you go and tell he to retire? Why are you picking on fraser who never lost a bout nor was never rejected by his people? Leave Joe Fraser alone for he is an undisputed champion of a man!

This is the problem. You focus more on winning an election than actual progressing your district or the territory. It is all just a political game for you all. Going for popularity versus production of actual beneficial results. The 3rd looks like a dump and feels like a dump the past 6 years! Only good thing is Mileage gas station and that restaurant inside. Look at Connor building! Roads mess. Bush overgroen and no landscaping. Set of Santo bars. The Well can’tdevelop? Roads can’t fix? Lil beautification? When last anything happen in the 3rd at the hands of government?

Sea Cows Bay looks like a damn ghetto. Look at the way that place look. Seems the people living down there is just plain out nasty people that don’t take pride of where they live. I don’t see Pleasant Valley where Fraser lives looking so nasty and ghetto fied. It is embracing, all I see is property value depleting.

SCB looks like a dump AKA mini ghetto. Look at that big ugly apartment building by the road across from the senior center, the derelict vehicles parked up in front of the entrance of the late teacher Inez home and the over grown bushes. Seems like no one in the SCB community cares. Bunch of nasty people living down there.

Mr. Frazer should do the honourable thing and resign, don't allow a bad defeat to tornish his political career. Like CSC so correctly said. " He has done all that he can*.. Take your family and nice long Cruise fraxee and enjoy the rest of your life. Leave politics alone..

The thing is, to many people in District 3 is afraid of change and has become COMPLACENT.

Please stick to the script, what you are talking about is totally different and not in the script. Stop getting so offensive and defensive when truth and reality is presented. LOGIC AND COMMON SENSE ALWAYS COMES BEFORE FEELINGS.

That is also a concern as well. Hundreds of gallons of water is wasted on a daily. Then they complain about not having water. there goes the water, running around the corner like a permanent open water faucet.

If you live among filth and nastiness, you are just as nasty. Yeah the people living down Sea Cows Bay is nasty people. Why can’t people take pride in where they live. I have to drive through SCB on a daily and the place look like a ghetto. Stop bragging about we from the 3rd and go clean up your nasty community. Ohhh, forgot, they allow to many undesirable outsiders to move into their community adding to the decline of SCB. All of you that have the big houses in SCB, your PROPERTY VALUE IS SLOWLY DROPPING. NO ONE IS GOING TO MOVE TO A GHETTO NO MATTER HOW BIG OR NICE YOUR HOME IS.

Well, I'm getting off the topic, but, Long Look, Fat Hogs Bay, and Greenland are the biggest ghetto in Tola. Sea Cows Bay is not the worst. Now, these are the slums of the BVI and the most crimes committed.
      • @Well (10/12/2022, 13:14) Like (1) Dislike (1) Reply
The focus is not on the above mentioned, the focus is on SEA COWS BAY, our community. Don’t worry about the above mentioned communities, worry about our community that is becoming a slum/ghetto. Sea Cows never use to look in the deplorable condition that it is now looking like. Garbage, over grown bushes everywhere, old cars, and boats sitting as breeding grounds for rodents, snakes and mosquitoes. Houses in need as a simple coat of paint.
