HoA to continue today Dec 20, 2018, in new sitting
The Bill—that must be passed before year end 2018—requires the Virgin Islands to have offshore companies with physical offices in the Territory (Sec 8) that reflects the amount of transaction. Failure to pass the Bill would have resulted in the British Overseas Territory of the VI being blacklisted by the European Union (EU).
More questions
At today’s Fifth Sitting of the Fourth Session of the Third HoA, Opposition Member, Hon Julian Fraser RA (R3) will fire off some questions to outgoing Premier and Co-Leader of Government Business, Dr the Honourable D. Orlando Smith (AL).
One such question is on the Recovery and Development Board (RDB). Hon Fraser is to ask, what is the salary of the CEO of the Recovery and Development Agency?; What are his allowances, and to provide a breakdown of allowances?; and finally, for Dr Smith to Provide a copy of his contract.
The former Opposition Leader is also to inquire about whether the board members of the RDA are paid and if the answer is yes, how much each individual is being paid, with a breakdown of each item being paid for.
There are also other questions going to the Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Dr the Honourable Kedrick D. Pickering (R7).
The HoA will be carried live on CBN-Radio 90.9 FM or you can log on to www.cbnvirginislands.com to listen to the proceedings.
