ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Speaker of the Virgin Islands (VI) House of Assembly, Hon Julian Willock has indicated that the House is looking to exit the Save the Seed Energy Centre by the end of the year, if all goes well in expediting the return to the HoA Chambers in Road Town, Tortola.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and requirement in social distancing within indoor settings, legislators in 2020 were forced to move their sitting to the larger Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff's Bottom, Tortola.

Hon Willock, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a press conference on August 18, 2021, said monies have already been approved by the HoA for a project to expedite the move back to the original chambers.

'I am very anxious to get out'- Hon Willock

He said the collaboration for the move is with the Deputy Governor's office, the Public Works Department, the Ministry of Finance's project Unit and the House of Assembly.

"I am very anxious to get out, and the Clerk could tell you...to move back up to chambers," Hon Willock said.

It is expected to the HoA chambers would have to been adjusted to meet the COVID-19 public health guidelines before legislators return to the chambers.
