DUFF’S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI- The Eighth Sitting of the Second Session of the Fourth House of Assembly (HoA) will continue at the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff's Bottom, Tortola, at 10:00 am on Monday, June 8, 2020, according to HoA spokesman Mr Linton V. Leonard in a press release today, June 7, 2020.

The HoA last met on Friday, June 5, 2020, when the controversial motion brought by Senior Member of the Opposition, Hon Julian Fraser RA (R3) to reprimand the Governor for causing the BVI Airways (BVIA) report from the Auditor General to be tabled late in the House failed after only receiving two votes in its favour.

Only Honourable Fraser and Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) voted in favour of it.

Following the failed motion, the COVID-19 Control & Suppression Miscellaneous Provisions Amendment Act 2020 was debated and passed.

The House had closed with the Virgin Islands Trade Commission Act 2019 which was committed to a Committee of the whole House.

The Sitting on Monday will be aired LIVE on the House of Assembly BVI YouTube page, ZBVI (780 AM), CBN 90.9 FM and FLOW TV Channel 101.

Media and HoA need to investigate head of Governor office. Why they not release report in timeframe? Why we pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for them and family to live here for free? Can’t even release report in time.

Investigate her now.and Send her back. Waste of our money. Another racist bigot not even delivering.

Hope they have a plan to tackle the labour problems we have...laying off because of the Virus and the lockdown / Cutfew was a must especially if you are in the Hospitality business...But as things began to relax and businesses are opening again.. According to the labour code citizens and belongers should be called out first.. it doesnt even need a law for that, that should be automatic a given... And as busunesses start getting busy then they start calling out other workers ...But belongers and ctizens need to be called out first..Sad to say thats not the way its happening... Lots of us are still at home while the work permit staff are called out to work....We have bills to pay and family to feed as well...Being a citizen or a belonger must mean something,,.
