HLSCC 17th Performing Arts Series ends on high note [Slideshow Included]

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Students of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) came together last night, May 19, 2012 in celebrating and ending their 17th season of Performing Arts Series where they hosted the ‘2012 HLSCC Summer MusicFest’, which took place at the Eileen L. Parson’s auditorium.

Patrons were entertained by instruments of all sorts, coming together in different musical groups, rendering different genres taught by different musicians.

Performances were executed by the Brass Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, Chamber Players, HLSCC Choral, HLSCC Jazz Choir and the Jazz Ensemble.

The crowd was wooed with instrumentals coming from some of the world’s all time greatest, such as Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, John Gillespie, James Hemen, Elton John, Beenie Maupin, Paul Jackson and Harvey Mason.

The HLSCC Performing Arts Committee invites everyone to become a supporter of the Performing Arts Series where they are continuing their quest to provide the people of the Virgin Islands with a range of world-class musical presentations that are not readily available in the territory.

The HLSCC Performing Arts Series, 17th season started on October 21, 2011, with a concert dubbed ‘World Music’.
