ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- HireBVI will be hosting its annual Back to School Distribution Drive, with a focus primarily on Virgin Islands (VI) families in need.

Unlike the previous back to school distribution drives hosted by HireBVI, this year HireBVI has decided to donate school supplies to 50 VI families in need.

The school supplies will be bundled and distributed to Family Support Network (FSN).

Registration

According to HireBVI in a press release issued today, August 17, 2021, FSN will handle the registration logistics of the families and the final distribution of school supplies to the families. It said families in need are encouraged to register with FSN by August 27, 2021, by sending a WhatsApp message to 284-542-2085 or 284-541-4844 or email to familysn1@yahoo.com to verify their qualifications.

Ms Rekeema S. Turnbull, Managing Director noted that "Considering the impact that COVID-19 has had on the Territory thus far, we decided to assist affected families by providing support. Therefore, we have partnered once more with FSN who will be responsible for identifying those affected families.

“It is imperative to note that only registered and qualified families will receive school supplies. We would also like to express gratitude to our sponsors, namely Aeropost, ACE by HireBVI, Island Services, Let's Fuze VI, P3, Caribbean Cellars and Guardian Property Management & Sales for their kind contribution and support."

High number of families experiencing hardships- Sasha H. Stoutt

Ms Sasha H. Stoutt, Executive Director/Clinical Psychologist at FSN was excited about HireBVI's contributions, noting, "It’s that time of year again! Family Support Network is pleased to be doing its annual Back-to-School Programme. This year, we are grateful for the contribution that HireBVI is giving us to assist low-income families in our community. Due to the unusually high number of families, we have witnessed experiencing hardships, we are happy for their donation of stationery and other necessary school supplies. It is our belief that when organisations come together to help, they can make great impact. Family Support Network hopes that because of our joint efforts more families in the BVI will be able to give their children a good start to this 2021 - 2022 school year."

Earlier this year, HireBVI donated to FSN as its charity of choice, through its C is for Christmas; C is for Charity campaign. In May, the community had the opportunity to interact with employers as well as learn about careers and educational options through HireBVI's annual career expo. The human resources business is back at it again, with its Back to School drive, under the theme, “The Future is Now” which has always had a focus on young people in the community.

HireBVI

Great Idea, Nice Innitiative, However, I will suggest they Let families submit their interest in getting help and put all application in a bag, shake it up and pick 50..Thats the only way we will avoid bias, and unfairness....Make it transparent...Have a camera at the pulling...Time to do things differently to bring public confidence back..
