High school students on Anegada shine @ Science Fair

It was the task of Grade Nine (9) students Lionel Smith, Latisa Smith, Rondel Smith and Janesh Emmanuel to use their creative ability to produce the pieces within a given time frame and have ready for yesterday's showcase.
According to one parent who visited to encourage the students, the exercise saw the coming together of the students, parents and teachers in a very friendly environment. "That's what we need and that was one of the objectives," the parent told this news site.
"This fosters healthy competition. It provided opportunity to the talented and creative students for nourishing and nurturing of their creative talents," added the parent.
Previous accomplishments
Being creative is nothing strange to the students, having continuously participated in the Agriculture Department's school competitions and came out with high rated positions.
According to the parent, two months ago the students of Grades 8 and 9 walked away with two firsts and two second places from the Food and Nutrition aspect of the Agriculture competition. "Since then the school is now doing Food and Nutrition as a subject, which is a good thing for the kids," noted the parent.
Negative spotlight
The Claudia Creque Educational Centre was in the spotlight in a negative way recently when parents threatened to shut the school down in protest over conditions at the institution. The Department of Education responded by sending two officials to calm the situation on Monday May 4, 2015.
Minister for Education Myron V. Walwyn has since stated that a school board will be established at the Claudia Creque Educational Centre.
