Herbal remedies for COVID-19 not being counted out- Hon Malone
Hon Malone, while delivering remarks during the Tuesday, July 20, 2021, edition of VIP Lets talk on ZBVI 780AM, said the VI government is willing to implement emerging treatments, once approved and can save a life.
“Your government is doing whatever is required in order to see us through this period.. we have to deal with here, we have to deal with home,” he said.
Hon Malone continued, “There are persons who have herbal remedies, there are persons who have new medicines that would like to see introduced [and] tried,” he said.
The Health Minister further said that some persons have been introduced to natural herbal remedies which have worked; however, he warned that persons must still seek professional help regarding COVID-19 treatments.
BVIHSA will continue to engage in approved 'best practices - Hon Malone
However, regarding approval of such treatments, Hon Malone indicated that the BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) will continue to engage in the best practices regarding medicines after consultation with CDC, Public Health England, CARPHA, and WHO for all that is is possible
“There are emerging technologies, emerging drugs that we would seek to get, the antibodies that everybody is talking about, whatever can work.”
“It is not a magic pill, but if it can save one life, we will make sure that it is here,” Hon Malone said.
As of July 20, 2021, the VI recorded 1,604 active positive cases of the COVID-19 virus, with 23 deaths; the majority of which happened in the month of July 2021.
The Health Minister reminded that COVID-19 vaccination still remains the best-proven method to fight the virus.

If we can get the monoclonal antibody treatment here (the thing Trump got that he promised to “everybody”) that would be something.

I don’t understand why many are upset about others using herbs if it works or helps it means less over crowding at the hospital.
I know of something that works 100 percent I have used it and also recommend to some which gained the same result as I had.
2/3 days of COVID totally gone.
I ain’t saying vaccinate or don’t I am just saying there are stuff we all can use regardless of vaccination status that will aid tremendously and avoid most hospitals casualties.

No disrespect to the use of herbs. All for them, in their place. And they may very well be helping those hardy souls with strong immune systems who are having mild to moderate discomfort and symptoms from covid infection. But for all the people with medical conditions such as; diabetes, hypertension, COPD, obesity, herbs are just not enough. This is a medical emergency for them. And it is a community Public Health emergency. Vaccination is the appropriate response to this pandemic. Again, no disrespect to herbal medicine. I am a life-long believer. I appreciate it.
But this is a 21st century problem. Let’s use 21st century medicine to combat it.

COVID mostly impacts the ones with existing comorbidities soo isn’t good that the ones without these can fix themselves at home leaving the hospital for those that are high risks?

Take cannabis a naturally occurring plant medicine. They said for years upon years it has no medicinal use and locked people up based on this.
Doctor’s supported that. Now we are supposed to believe everything they say without question.
