Health Ministry issues warning over purchasing fake vaccines online

The Ministry of Health and Social Development issued the warning through a press release on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
The advisory said these fake items include COVID-19 tests, vaccines, and other items, which are being promoted to diagnose, treat and even curing COVID-19.
“Purchasing these products is not advisable and will do more harm than good as using fake vaccines can endanger one’s health and life. If you would like to be vaccinated, you can do so at any community clinic in the BVI, from Monday to Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m,” the release said.
Oxygen tanks for home use discouraged
Residents were also cautioned against buying oxygen tanks for use at home.
“These tanks are highly flammable and should not be used unless advised by a doctor. Inappropriate use can cause oxygen toxicity which causes seizures and other health challenges,” it added.
This warning comes in the midst of an advanced community spread of the virus, where there are 1559 active, positive cases and six deaths.
