“Head butting” homeowner trial resumes May 9
Facing one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, Mario Pini has pleaded not guilty.
During a court appearance on April 25, 2012, both the Crown and defense agreed on that date for the trial continuance. Only the Virtual Complainant (VC) took the stand when the trial began on October 12, 2011.
Crown Counsel, Jude Hanley on August 17, 2011 had outlined the facts in the case. According to her, the alleged incident occurred on May 15, 2011 when the VC was picked by Pini, who took him to his home to show him the unsatisfactory job he did.The Crown Counsel had stated that the VC acknowledged the work needed to be redone and it was during this time the defendant became angry and started shouting at the VC.
“He demanded that the VC apologise,” Crown Counsel Hanley had further stated. And while Pini was talking, the VC turned his head, which infuriated him even more. It was then the defendant allegedly held on to his jaw and said, “Look at me when I am talking to you…look me in the eye.”
The court heard that the VC replied that he could hear with his ears, and it was then Pini allegedly head butted the VC.Pini is on bail and is represented by Herbert McKenzie of Orion Law Firm.
