Ready for their fans and not wanting them to wait any longer, the Hard Core Band out of Virgin Gorda (VG) has informed this news site that they will be releasing four new songs for the up-coming August festival.

In an exclusive interview with Co-Manager and Lead Singer of the band Martino ‘Tino’ Mark, he told this news site that the band is working on their first album to be released later this year. He stated that the four songs that are to be released will be a taste of what is to come on the up-coming album.

The names of two of the four songs to be released are ‘Carnival Calling’ and ‘Energy’. He added that the other two songs are worth waiting for and will be a big surprise to the fans.

Mark said Hardcore Band targets a more mature and older crowd, a crowd that is more diverse. Through their songs, they promote life and all its fun times such as partying and being free.

The band that has been around for the last three years is known for its versatility and its up-beat performances. “We started the band because we saw the decrease in bands in the country and a need for raw talent and good music.” He added that Virgin Gorda is regionally known as the ‘Musical City”.

Mr. Mark expressed that although the band does not boasts of any accomplishments as yet, the members are very musically inclined and it results in the band being a success.

He stated that himself along with the other members of the band ranges from people who toured with celebrity groups, wrote and produced mega hits for Caribbean and international artistes to winning titles of Calypso Monarch several times locally and regionally.

Tino forecasted the band to be a big hit in the up-coming season. He added that it is expected for the band to perform their hits all over the VI.

The band that is managed by Tamra Caul comprises of six members, two vocalists, a base player, drums player, guitar and a keyboardist was founded by the Mark brothers of VG.

He stated that although the band is not a family by blood they are a family from the relationships built with each other.

Marcus ‘Young Blood’ Mark and Martino ‘Tino’ Mark created the band after returning to VG from traveling and touring with regional acts.

“Marcus went on tour with Elvis White while I was on tour with Kevin Little,” said Martino.

Tino stated that the band has its roots in soca but they cover almost every genre because of the wide range and background of their fans. Mr. Mark hopes in five years the band would be able to be on tour throughout the Caribbean and hopefully throughout the world.
