Haitian man denied entry to VI escapes custody @ TB Lettsome Airport

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Haitian national Genel Mauvais.

Mauvais, according to police, escaped custody while being escorted to Immigration Office at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport on Sunday, February 27, 2022.

According to a press release from the RVIPF today, March 3, 2022, the Haitian national was refused entry into the Territory after landing on an InterCaribbean flight.

Description

Police said Mauvais is brown-skinned, slim built and approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 160 pounds.

He recorded that he was be residing at a residence in the Huntums Ghut area.

Anyone seeing Genel Mauvais is asked to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.

        come BVI to slip through the window to USVI then onto mainland USA is nothing new been happening over 60 years: 911 disrupted that flow after 911 one have to produce identification to travel from usvi to mainland USA....loads of them back up in tiny road town because of 911(so dem have chat big island folks flooding tiny island some of the working 10 and 15 jobs just to make end meet)

      That S..t is to funny. Escape from immigration custody. Damnnn, they don’t even have a holding cell area at the airport like all airports do. Why can’t we ever get things in order for once? How come St.Thomas don’t have this problem at their airport with their airport security. They detain you at that airport you will not get the chance to run off. I agree, perhaps the security guard is one of his Country men.

    If I went to a foreign country and tried to hide out there, how in the world would I know where to go? Nah, someone knew they were coming and told them exactly what to do and where to hide, and they would pick them up later. Someone here has been trafficking people for some reason, and it cannot be for the good of us who live here. Dangerous happenings are going on and I feel more murders will happen. How do these people keep escaping from security? Are they all in on it?
