POCKWOOD POND, Tortola, VI- The tabloid Guavaberry Media is at it again with its normal fake news and erroneous information. In an article today, October 8, 2026, the tabloid owned and run via the Facebook platform by controversial At-Large Independent Candidate Rosemary L. Rosan, aka ‘Cindy’,  claimed that the ruling Virgin Islands Party (VIP) had ratified three candidates ahead of the 2027 General elections.

Ms Rosan used a photo of local Attorney Nelson R. Samuel that was circulating on social media today, and posted an article with the headline ‘VIP Holds Congress, Ratifies Three Candidates Ahead of 2027 General Election’.

However, our newsroom made contact with three senior members of the VIP, and they all confirmed that the Guavaberry Media article is “rubbish, erroneous and inaccurate.”

Two of the members speaking to our newsroom on condition of anonymity stated that, “No VIP Congress meeting was held last night [October 7, 2026], and no At-Large Candidates or any candidate for that matter were ratified last night.”

Ms Rosan has a history of inaccurate articles and also using her online platform to terrorize residents she hates. Her famous targets continue to be the Premier Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), Hon Lorna G. Smith, OBE (AL) and former Speaker of the House of Assembly,  Businessman and political aspirant for District Three Mr Julian Willock.

Hon Smith already ratified

In the same fake news article today, she could not help herself and took a jab at Hon Smith, claiming that she is yet to be ratified by the VIP, even though Hon Smith has announced recently that she will be running with the VIP.  The same senior sources said that Hon Smith had joined the party many months ago and has long been confirmed by VIP Congress as a member and candidate, and the party Chairman, Dr Wheatley, will make a public announcement at the appropriate time.

It is unclear where Ms Rosan obtained her false information from about a VIP Congress meeting held last night and that Mr Samuel had been ratified by the Congress along with two other candidates, when it is not so.

Our newsroom reached out to Ms Rosan for comment since this information was received. She replied, "Why are you reaching out to me from VINO? I’m confused."
