ST. GEORGE'S, Grenada, W.I.- The main opposition New National Party (NNP) of Grenada has repeating the results of the 1999 general election when it won all 15 seats.

Virgin Islands News Online's media partners in St. George’s, Grenada have confirmed that the results issued moments ago show that the NNP, headed by former Prime Minister Dr Keith C. Mitchell, has won all 15 seats including that of several government ministers such as Finance Minister Nazim Burke, Social Development Minster Sylvester Quarless and Works Minister Arlene Walker.

Burke was defeated in the St George’s North East constituency by the relatively unknown candidate, Tobia Clement, a lecturer at the St George’s University.

“I always put my trust in the Lord and tonight he has moved in a big way,” Clement said.

Prime Minister Tillman J. Thomas, who is leading the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), lost his St. Patrick East seat against relative newcomer, Clifton Paul of the NNP.

Earlier, Dr Mitchell told the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) that figures indicate that his party, which was trounced 11-4 in the 2008 general election, would most likely win all seats, repeating a feat it achieved in 1999.

“It is clear that we have won the election, it is very likely we will win all the seats,” he told CMC.

Prime Minister-elect Dr Keith C. Mitchell has declared a public holiday on Friday February 22, 2013 for the first One Day International between West Indies and Zimbabwe at the Grenada National Stadium.

Virgin Islands News Online's Media partners from Caribbean Media Corporation and Spice Grenada .com helped with this report.

Let the corruption in Grenada begin. The Prime Minister was allegedly involved in corrupt practices some years ago.

They all deserve 1-2 term(s) because after a while they believe they own the country and the people. Many investments in several countries are in the public eyesight while others are not. They are placed in several leaders personal accounts. Is that transperency? What we need to come to the fact and realised is that the masses are not to be played with. Some will talk, some will walk and some will take actions and actions is sometimes taken by the ballots

We need to know how they were able to get all their results by 9:00 PM and Tortola and Nevis would take all night to count a handful of votes.

The answer is simple. They don't have a stupid at-large system that's why they get results so early.
