District 4, who had proven the most powerful team from the start to finish of the 13-15 Division, romped to a 60-27 win over District 1 in the final with Championship MVP, J’Von Williams top scoring with 16 points and 4 rebounds. ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – District 4, in the 13-15 Division, and Green Machine, in the 9-12 Division, were crowned Champions of the Sea Cows Bay Basketball Club’s District Christmas League, which closed at the Multi Purpose Sports Complex on Friday December 11, 2015.

The 9-12 Division actually concluded on Thursday December 10, 2015 with Parson's Green Machine beating Albion’s Golden Eagles 36-28 led by Championship MVP Kishawn Esprit, who scored 12 points and added 8 rebounds. Jason Audain notched 8 points with 8 rebounds and Kadeam Maynard finished with 4 points.

For the Golden Eagles, Kymal Pancho scored 18 points with 3 steals and 3 assists, Shamoi Christopher added 4 points with 2 assists and Daunte Matthias netted 4 points.

For District 1, D’Aundre Penn smashed 14 points.

“This Division had some problems with discipline,” noted McLean “In the future we need more parents to come out and support their children, but District 4 were a very powerful, experienced team, a little older than the other teams, but also mature as a team having played together for a while now.”

Most Points; Kimoi Walters 35, Most Rebounds: Nixon Hamilton 23, Most Steals: Kimoi Walters 6, Most Assists: Kimoi Walters 8, Most Blocks: D’Aundre Penn 8, Most 3 Pointers: Troyson Ceasar, Best Guards: Kimoi Waletrs and K’Aundre Clarke, Best Forwards: Renrick Massic and Diorys Joseph, Best Centre: Nixon Hamilton, Sportsmanship: Clifton Forbes, Best Coach: Devante Vanterpool, Regular Season MVP: Kimoi Walters.

District 1 had faced a Play Off game against District 7 on the same night in reaching the Final, but although not so fresh as District 4, their Coach/ Manager Andrew A. Fahie was quick to down play that and praise the Victors. “I’m proud of my team, but must applaud District 4, who are worthy Champions. They were well rested and we had to play a tough game against District 7, so with more time and another night we would have been able to compete better.”

Most Promising Players for the Tournament, which was sponsored by Hon Julian Fraser RA and Myron V. Walwyn, were named as Donald Layne, Keshawn Esprit, T’Quan Stoutt and Kevante Sprauve.

    The people of Hog City continue to praise and thank you for the effort you put into our children Mr. Mclean. You make us proud. You works go unrewarded but your labour is not in vain. Honour is given where honour is due. The league was great and it was run professionally. Others should learn from your efforts.
