ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Individuals detained at the Government’s Immigration Detention Centre located at Hotel Castle Maria in McNamara, Tortola can expect on-time means when new caterers take over the supply of food for persons being held at the facility.

Persons looking to supply food must be trained and competent in Catering Services and should have the capacity to provide meal services at the temporary Immigration Detention Centre housed at Hotel Castle Maria.

“The proposed scope of service is to ensure compliance in ensuring all meals are prepared and delivered within the time stipulated for meals of persons held in the detention centre by the Immigration Department,” information from the Government Information Services (GIS) detailed.

It remains unclear how many meals are provided at the centre; however, the scope could cover breakfast, lunch and dinner for those detained ahead of deportation.

Requirements

Eligible tenderers are required to have a valid Trade 2023 Licence and submit Certificates of Good Standing in respect of the Social Security and taxes, including Payroll and Income Tax, from VI Social Security Board, National Health Insurance and Inland Revenue.

Bid documents will be available Monday, February 27, 2023 on weekdays between 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Bidding documents will be sent to bidders electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title “Catering Service to Provide Meal Services at the Temporary Immigration Detention Centre Housed at Hotel Castle Maria”.

The release noted that a virtual pre-tender meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 10:00 AM and that access will be provided prior to the meeting where all prospective tenderers are invited to attend.

Over the years, there have been several incidents where detainees have reportedly escaped the centre while being housed at Hotel Castle Maria for various reasons.

They are not there as Hotel guests. Perhaps food vendor might be more applicable.

    Great way to waste money!
At least make sure you get a big cut of the money. If you're going to waste money, you might as well make it an opportunity to steal from the cookie jar.

Let them cook food for themselves.

The government can do the shopping and they do the cooking.

Everyone has to eat. Come to the BVI, you get caught they put you in a hotel with catered food to boot. All inclusive, best part is you escape when you want.

Come to the British Virgin Islands. If you are not caught you will be smuggled into the USVI from where you can easily make your way to America. If you are caught however you will spend your time in luxury at a hotel with all needs and wants provided and paid for by the government who treat their locals like trash denying every opportunity to make decent living while they find ways to place obstacles in their way. The BVI is all about trying to impress foreigners even law breakers and dishing dirt to its local population who are not among the chosen. When it comes to self hatred and crab in the barrel mentality BVI takes the cake some of the most wicked imbeciles you will find on the planet but this treatment is reserved for their own especially those they have been programmed to target.

Interested bidders need to show they're in good standing with the Virgin Islands' Social Security Board, National Health Insurance, and the Inland Revenue Department in order to phrazleconsidered for this procurement.
