Can I come and talk about the locations of these bars and also the operating hours. Live next to one and it’s unfair that I can’t sleep most weekends and the landlord have the heart to suggest we go somewhere else. I own my home, where does he expect us to go. I hoping that sound proofing these businesses are a must to get a license.

Liquor licenses should only be renewed once a year instead of every 6 months, which is actually every 5 months by the time they are ready to give you your new license. Not only that, we have to submit 3 notarized forms, one to the police dept, one to the magistrate court, and one to the inland revenue. By that time, we are exhausted from running around, it is time to renew again. Why can't they just have us submit everything in one place? We really are so far behind the rest of the world.

What darned public meeting needed? No darned bill is needed period. Acting like the same of alcohol is some major thing. It should not need no magistrates approval. Get a trade license for a bar, then trade inspects and you pay your fee. Simple. If my trade license approved in January then within a couple weeks I can open my business once everything is in place on my side. Not no one every year liquor license reviewed. Even monthly would be OK. But this nonsense about once or twice a year this one woman gets to sit and arbitrarily decides who gets a liquor license and who doesn't is ridiculous! If she had been affected by alcoholism, then her judgment nt would be biased. Stop this antiquated nonsense.

It does not matter WHAT the bill says. The same people who seeking licenses and the same people working on the bill will turn a deaf ear and blind eye when businesses start serving teens in the bars and clubs. They keep collecting money from them to renew their business license year in year out, even though they KNOW for a fact some of these businesses are breaking the law. So it doesn't matter what the bill says if there will be NO enforcement. And THAT is our biggest problem here!
