Gov’t food initiative ‘too important to be sabotaged’- Rosemary R. Rosan Jones

The Andrew A. Fahie (R1) Government is spending $2M for basic food packages for seniors, the vulnerable, and those in need of food during the additional week of lockdown to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
The distribution of packages started yesterday, April 20, 2020.
Commenting on her Facebook page today, April 21, 2020, Mrs Rosan-Jones said she is a part of the Government initiative to get food to those needing it.
“We were out all day yesterday. I normally don’t share this stuff because I don’t feel charity is something to celebrate. You do it and keep moving.”
‘I don’t appreciate the video’- Rosan-Jones
Mrs Rosan-Jones noted; however, that a video was circulating on social media of a “substandard package” that someone received.
“I want to be clear, it is NOT a gov’t package. The person putting out the video is either deliberate [or] didn’t ask the recipient the right questions.”
Mrs Rosan-Jones then urged charitable organisations and elected District Representatives to let recipients be clear when they are distributing packages outside of what Government is distributing.
“The Gov’t initiative is too important, to be sabotaged like that.
“As someone who worked extremely hard yesterday, spending time away from my children, I don’t appreciate the video and a lot of others who gave of their time, don’t.”
While she didn’t share the video that prompted her to make her Facebook post, Mrs Rosan-Jones shared photos and videos of what the Government packages look like.
Care package for every household suggested
Meanwhile, Mrs Rosan-Jones also suggested in the same Facebook post that Government should get a “care package” to every household to ensure no one is without food.
While Premier Fahie has said no one would hungry during this time, many persons have complained on social media of not getting through to the numbers provided by Government and charitable organisations distributing food supplies.
“Now what I’d say is that it would be an amazing thing if Government gave each household a care package and if someone needs something additional, they could buy. That would be what feeding a nation looked like. That would be leaving no household hungry because people are simply not going to get through to the phone lines whether it be Government, organisations or other companies, to get food,” Mrs Rosan-Jones suggested.

Another desperate comment
I’m thankful and won’t do a video but Cindy needs to keep quiet it appears the bigger names get better packages there I said it
Once you sign up and they realized that you have a job (especially if it is a good job) you NOT getting any food. so if you're broke, have no food and you have a good job, your family might starve.
I am speaking from the experience my family went through during hurricane Irma. I am also a Virgin Islander.
This form of bias needs to be looked into!
I commend her for courage and freedom of speech.
