Gov't critic Cindy Rosan announces independent bid for office!
The former BVI Tourist Board official, who was sacked, claimed that her desire to run is driven by people who have felt unheard and families who are struggling.
Does she use her platforms to go after residents?
Many residents have accused Ms Rosan of using her social media platforms to go after persons she hates and engage in libel and slander against ordinary residents in an attempt to intimidate them. It is believed she has a hit list that includes Jr Minister for Financial Services and Economic Development Hon Lorna G. Smith (AL), former House of Assembly Speaker and businessman Mr Julian Willock, and Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7).
She has co-authored a series of articles about Hon Smith, whom she has tried desperately to tie to a failed bank, even when the evidence clearly demonstrated Hon Smith had nothing to do with the institution or government funds invested in it. She continues to criticise Premier Wheatley even when he continues to do so much for the Territory and his district.
Rosan also continues to go after Mr Willock, trying desperately to tie him to bogus court matters (trumped-up charges) and even opposed him as a qualified Virgin Islander offering his much sought-after skills and service to the country as an advisor.
She once said former Premier Andrew A Fahie should be executed over his arrest in Florida.
Would she change as a candidate?
The political candidate is now trying to change her tone, saying: “too many communities feel disconnected from the decisions that shape their lives. My friends, we deserve better.”
Claiming that her campaign is a movement built on integrity and courage, Ms Rosan opined that she will be “visiting every single community in this territory” in the coming weeks and months.
In trying to change public opinion and perception of her, she noted that she is “not seeking titles. I am not seeking power. I am seeking the opportunity to serve because leadership was never meant to elevate one individual”.
While many residents see her as a polarising figure, she said leadership exists to elevate all people. She noted that, “Somewhere along the way, politics has convinced us that our differences are greater than our dreams. I refuse to believe that”.
Our newsroom will be monitoring to see if she, now as a political candidate, truly changes or tones down her divisive rhetoric.
