The Premier was at the time speaking at a public meeting on Jost van Dyke on Tuesday, October 22, 2020, where he pointed out that COVID-19 has impacted the globe, yet its effects were limited in the VI with good containment of the virus.

"What the Virgin Islands has been able to do although we may disagree at times with the methodology on being able to contain the coronavirus, we must thank God and give our Minister of Health [Hon Carvin Malone(AL)] and our health officials a round of applause by no stretch of the imagination," the Premier said.
"I know we may disagree with the methodology, but one thing we will all agree with is that we all want to make sure that we are safe and that we all want to make sure that we are healthy," the Premier said.
He sad every measure the government has taken was based on protecting the people of the territory and putting the health needs of the population first.
"I am glad that the measures work, I know they work because we all are alive here and can attend this meeting, one you are alive it is a plus," he said.
No buckling to pressure - Premier Fahie
Meanwhile, regarding the new 7-day quarantine being proposed by the Health Ministry instead of the mandatory 14-days for visitors, the Premier said it is one that will come with greater risks.
He said the more days reduced from the quarantine time, the higher the percentage of having more persons landing in the VI.
The Premier also said that he will not buckle to pressure and make decisions that could endanger the VI population; however, he said the economic situation has caused his administration to prioritise funding.

If you never go out on the street you will never get hit by a Buss, but is that really worth congratulating yourself?
You also never got to your job because you feared that bus, and so Now you live off your patents.
