ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Office of the Governor is advertising a vacancy for a Policy and Communications Officer.

“We are looking for an experienced and skilled person to join the team as Policy and Communications Officer,” the Office of the Governor stated on its Facebook page on March 8, 2024.

According to the social media post, the main purpose of the job is to support the Governor’s priorities, including providing policy analysis and advice, to act as digital and social media officer, to lead on small projects and a range of other areas including scholarship schemes and royal matters.

The deadline for applications is April 1, 2024, and interested persons can apply via the link: https://fco.tal.net/.../22327-Policy-and.../en-GB

There have been criticisms in some sections of the public about positions at the Office of the Governor mostly being occupied by UK nationals. In fact, there have been questions about whether vacancies are advertised locally.

We locals don’t know how to keep anything confidential. The minute we come across anything we immediately want to share with our “confidant” who then shares with theirs….the rest is history.
