Gov Daniel Pruce makes ‘official introduction’ to public service
The Governor, who was sworn in on January 29, 2024, formally introduced himself to the Public Service, speaking on his background as a career Civil Servant in the United Kingdom as well as his outlook for the Public Service during his tenure as Governor.
According to the Government Information Service (GIS), the Governor also fielded questions from public officers who attended the meeting, held at the Government House Reception Hall, and from those who joined virtually.
Public officers total 2477
According to Section 60 (1) (d) of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order, 2007, the Governor is responsible for the terms and conditions of service of persons holding or acting in public offices.
According to GIS, the Public Service's population currently stands at 2477 public officers across nine ministries and over 50 departments.
