Election is due every five (5) years. Early elections are usually called to avoid a loss by the ruling party. It puts any opponents in a frenzy trying to win due to the fact that they are not fully prepared.

Antigua and Barbuda had a general election in 2023 for a 5-year term. Its constitution give the sitting Prime Minister the power to call a snap election. This power disadvantages the opposition and provides an advantage for the sitting government. The playing field is not level. Nonetheless, the opposition has to play by the rules of game and should not have caught with its pants down; it should have been prepared. A sitting government strategically uses a snap election as a stealth tactics if it has a level of confidence to win. It is a gamble with high probability of winning.PM Ras Gassy caught UPP leader Jamele Pringle fiat footed..The Antigua and Barbuda constitution should be amended to set a datecertain for election. But in the near term, the prospect of that happening is nought.

A government with little to no opposition has the power to do whatever, what it wants, where it wants, when it wants how it wants and why it wants..It has absolute power. A government should a margin that allows it to function effectively while keeping it grounded..

All politicians who supported the former chief of police, mathews and jasper, playing god and terrorizing innocent citizens, will get this work, any how it comes. You will soon find out who the "wutless" ones are when the receipts are produced. This fight has nothing to do with who born here. Let the election begin.
