Garraway’s 23 leads Another Level to win over Young Stars
A second half commanding performance by Revaughn Garraway stimulated Another Level from their first half slumbers and they were able to put the game to bed by the end of the 3rd quarter. Garraway scored 23 points with 6 rebounds, 6 steals and 6 assists as his team overcame a 20-23 deficit to outscore their opponents by 13 in a second half of almost slow motion basketball.

The weekend’s first game saw the Young Gunners beat the Junior Pure Playaz 86-45.
With the Gunners racing into a 23-4 lead by the end of the first quarter, the result was in little doubt and with Ashfield Frett in dominating form that doubt was soon removed. Frett finished with 22 points, 16 rebounds, 4 steals and 5 assists to lead the Gunners, with other significant contributions coming from Michael Benjamin and Li’Shaqua Fahie who both scored 13.
The first senior game of the weekend saw the Rebels take another bashing, this time at the hands of Mega Mix. Douron Phillip scored 34 points and added 21 rebounds for the Mix in the 107-84 rout. Sean Woods did his best to match Phillip by scoring 35 of the Rebels points picking up 10 rebounds on the way and Jamal Serrant added 20 points, but the Rebels were blown away in the 4th quarter.
On Saturday June 30, the Bulls beat Hi Speed 50-27 with Franklyn Penn Junior scoring 18 points. He would contribute 13 to the Sunday’s 45-16 win against Monei. Tahj Malone scored 12 points and Albert Hatchett 10.
The Skulls then used two 20-point plus quarters to edge home 71-66 over Another Level, after the game was tied at the half. Jomoiri Dagou scored 22 points, Shamoii added 19 and both Akil Basil and J’Moi Liburd scored 10 for the Skulls.
Garraway scored 21, Wattley 17 and Charlesworth Georges 15 with 10 rebounds for Another Level.
All Ah Wee were awarded the points as the Latinos were no shows and then the Kings inflicted more damage onto East with a 94-81 win. Jevonne Demming top scored with 34 points, Kimani Stevens added 23 and Delbert Samuel picked up 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Kings, who swung the game in their favour, thanks to a 4th quarter where they outscored East by 32-18.
On Sunday following the Bulls’ win, the Skulls beat the Junior Pure Playaz 80-66, recovering from being down 3 at the half to outscore their opponents by 16 in the second half to secure victory. Shamoii Dagou scored 30 points with 10 rebounds and J’Moi Liburd added 18. Tyree Maduro top scored for the Playaz with 26 points and 15 rebounds.
What would have been the weekend’s last game turned out to be a famous if stilted victory for the HLSCC Stingrays as the East failed to turn up, giving the Stingrays their first points of the season.
