PHILIPSBURG, St Maarten, WI - It was game 2 for the British Virgin Islands (BVI) Bayside Blazers Team representing the Territory in the fifth annual Dreams to Reality Foundation 2018, battle of the fittest basketball tournament in Dutch St. Maarten.

It was an easy game for team BVI when they blew out a local Santo team 145 to 57, giving the BVI Basketball Team its second straight win.

Top scorers 

Top scorer for the BVI Bayside Blazers was Killven M. Samuel with 33 pts, 1 rebound, 5 assists  and 1 block.

Veteran player Jason A. Edwin came in with 32 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal.  

Coming next for the BVI Basketball team was its overseas player Cleo D. Sears with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 6 asst and 2 steals.

 Player Dion M. Blyden came in with 15 points, 1 rebound and 3 asst.

This evening Tuesday July 17, 2018, the BVI Team will come up against Dutch St. Maarten at 10:00 PM in the LB Scott Sports Auditorium.

Who is there with BVI

The BVI Basketball Team is managed by Julian Willock and the head coach is Ronald Simmonds aka ‘Gola’.

Others in the BVI delegation includes the team’s assistant Manager Derrick R. Varlack, Team assistant Coach Trevor M. Stevens aka ‘West’ of Virgin Gorda, Trainer Karl M. Scatliffe, and veteran player Kennedy H. Bass, who is a special advisor to the basketball team is also the scorer.  

The Team’s Platinum sponsor is the Bank of Asia.

    Proud of the BVI team despite lack of facilities to get full workout, since the recent devastation of the two hurricanes.
    Very good effort from those guys with top scores especially veteran player Jason Edwin.
    Hope you guys continue to win every game from here onwards to win the championship.
