Happiness has to go with your mindset and not outside circumstances.

A darn hotness indeed. Get this straight, I’m not hating on anyone sans it is the norm here in the BVI if you speak truth you are a hater. Far from the truth. Not one of those young lady is ready for the International stage. Have your local pageant and who win wins. Stop sending them on the International stage to compete knowing they are not ready. One thing we can all agree on is the other Caribbean Islands their girls be ready and know how to handle being on the International stage.

Do any of you even know these young ladies to comment on their capabilities and 'readiness' when they have only given a brief, 1-minute, introduction at this stage in the pageant? How about we give them the chance to show us first before posting uninformed and baseless opinions. You guys are IN FACT, haters as there is nothing 'crappy-looking' about these young ladies.

I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY YOU FEEL THIS WAY. WANT TO KNOW WHY? BECAUSE YOU ARE LOW BUDGET AND LOW CLASS!!!. THE SO CALLED ORGANIZERS HAVE NO IDEA. GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL, THE GIRLS IS NOT READY OR PREPARED FOR THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE SETTING.PREPARE THE GIRLS A YEAR IN ADVANCE FOR CLASSES ON HOW TO SPEAK PROPERLY, POISE, HAIR MAKE UP AND SKIN CARE. WRONG OUTFITS FOR THEIR REVEALING. YOU ALL PUT THOSE GIRLS IN ILL FITTING OUTFITS FOR THEIR REVEALING. When the young lady almost broke her ankle no fault of hers, that was the fault of the organizers who failed to put things in the right order.

So the territorial wear is now crap but the half naked clothing you all wear is classy?. For crying out loud it was a cultural.event and Miss BVI pagaent is not a beauty show.

Because of the outfits they were asked to wear.

I am not voting for anyone who I can't see behind a mask. They should show how they really look with no wigs, weaves, foundation makeup, fake eyelashes, pencil eyebrows, or fake nails. They should only wear lipstick, which does not alter their appearance. I want to know who I am addressing when I walk down the street and not some made-up mannequin. If they really want our votes, they should show us their real selves. Sick of all of these phony bologna shows.

What vote……? Lol unless you are a judge you wouldn’t be voting for anyone. Your opinion does not matter.

They held it on the AO Shirley Grounds 20 years ago and there were seats.

I do hope they reconsider moving it to the Multipurpose Complex.

If it is starting out this way can you imagine the confusion leading up to festival time? No troupes, you tell the public the parade is going to start at 11 and the parade starts at 2.

THE SHOW SHOULD NOT BE ON THE FESTIVAL GROUNDS. AWFUL IDEA. BTW, THE BVI NEEDS TO STOP DOING THINGS LIKE THIS. YOU HAVE 6 WEEKS TO GET THESE GIRLS READY. IT IS NOT FAIR TO THEM. THEY SHOULD BE WORKING WITH PEOPLE WEEKS BEFORE THE SHOW. THIS IS STUPID.
    • What do you know?? (11/06/2023, 07:53) Like (8) Dislike (4) Reply
How do you know that these girls have not been getting themselves ready prior to the reveal event? Common sense would tell you that they have... do y'all even think before posting?!

IF YOU LOOK AT THE REVEAL LAST NIGHT THAT WOULD TELL YOU. I WONT SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THE GIRLS BUT THERE IS SOME WORK TO BE DONE. ARENT YOU ORGANISING A SHOW? ARENT YOU GETTING READY TO SELECT A PERSON WHO WOULD BE PRESENTED TO THE OUTSIDE WORLD? IS THAT NOT THE IDEA OF THE SHOW? TO HAVE SOMEONE REPRESENT THE COUNTRY THROUGHOUT THE REGION AND INTERNATIONALLY? FROM LAST NIGHT, THAT WAS NOT IT. AND YOU HAVE 6-7 WEEKS TO FIX THAT. DO YOU THINK THAT THAT IS ENOUGH TIME? IT IS NOT FAIR TO THEM. GIVE THE GIRLS A FAIR CHANCE. FROM THE LOOKS OF IT, ONLY 1 GIRL SEEM TO BE READY. THE OTHERS HAVE WORK TO BE DONE. EVEN OUT THE COMPETITION. OR MAYBE THAT IS THE INTENTION. ALL IN ALL, CLEARING THIS IS A RUSH JOB. WELL, WHO KNOWS. BEST OF LUCK TO THE GIRLS! DO YOUR BEST LADIES.

If there is seats for the audience are you talking about those cheap white plastic chairs? That cost less than ten dollars in the US? Are the judges going to be sitting under a erected tent? Cause y’all love to put tents up for everything.

This summer is going to be hotter than hell. Please do not stress these ladies and the attendees out unnecessarily and put this thing back in the sports complex.
    • @Really (10/06/2023, 23:54) Like (13) Dislike (1) Reply
Exactly, this summer is going to be extra hot. This event should be held indoors where there is AC. How are you going to have those girls back and forth under I’m quite sure a tent in the heat and the audience sitting or standing in the heat.
  • Are you guys insane? (10/06/2023, 23:16) Like (22) Dislike (2) Reply
At the festival grounds. Come on now, you all can do better than that, that is plain out trashy and tacky. People normally dress nice to attend a Queen show, no one is going to pay to stand bunch up on each other in the heat to see a Queen show. You all are really backwards in this place.

DId you know that Queen shows in the 70s and 80s (
before Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall was built) were held on the AO Shirley Recreation. Grounds? They also put chairs as well. Not saying its the beat location but we should stop being so negative and think before we speak. We don't have all the information. The open air might be better than the Complex.
    • Backward (11/06/2023, 09:21) Like (9) Dislike (4) Reply
Yes we are going back 50 years by bringing it back on the Festival Grounds. Our lights, roads, education all gone back 50 years under VIP. Why not let the Queen show go backward also!!!
  • MY OPINION (11/06/2023, 06:38) Like (27) Dislike (1) Reply
    1. We really need to get our act together and start planning our festival events way ahead of the dates.
    2. It is unfair to have our Queen contestants subjected to such low standards just to save money. We are demoralizing them from the get go. There was no class whatsoever in the grand reveal by having it at crafts alive. Come on!! Get some class, organizers!!
    3. To have a queen show at the festival grounds is again demoralizing! Our Queen contestants should feel special. How can you even begin to expect royalty to exist when you place them in a dusty, festival village to perform at their best! Do better, organizers!! Come on!! Get some class, organizers!!
    4. Let us support our Queen contestants and encourage them through this process as we see the shoddy conditions they have to deal with. How can they feel like Royalty when the planning committee is placing them in the lowest of standards. Come on organizers! Get some class, organizers so our contestants can feel like they are honored.
    5. Take money from the funds being used for the 24 hours concert and put it towards paying the costs for the sports complex to hold the Queen show. Let’s get our priorities in order.

    6. Why must we always do things with such low standards? Is that what we think and feel about our people? In order to feel better, we must do better. GET IT TOGETHER, ORGANIZERS!!

    7. To our beautiful Queen contestants, time is short, use the resources out there to gain confidence and hold your heads high. Don’t listen to those who only have negative energy to extend. They have their inner issues preventing them from being positive.
Practice, practice, practice. See yourselves as Queens and act the role. Love yourselves and let that inner confidence flow outwards. Don’t be discouraged! This is an experience you can talk about for the rest of your lives. Whether you win or not, in your own right, you are all winners for having the courage to go out there and compete. You are braver than I would ever be. Wishing you all the best! Support each other as well. Sending love to you all.

The organizers of the Queen show is low class and have no idea how to organize a Queen show. Stop embarrassing the contestants. Then got the nerve to hold a Queen show at the festival grounds that is not appropriate for such an event. Get some class for once.

You are so right about that. I cheat on my husband, he’s fine with it as long as I cheat with influential powerful men. If you are going to cheat, you don’t cheat with a poor man.

The public is in no way, shape or form bashing or hating on anyone of you. The comments are towards the ORGANIZERS THAT SOMEHOW THINK IT IS OK TO HOLD A QUEEN SHOW ON A DUSTY FESTIVAL GROUNDS IN THE HEAT UNDER A TENT.

No one is bashing anyone of you, we wish each and every one of you the best so don’t allow anyone to put it in your heads that we are bashing and hating on you guys. The organizers are the ones that is going to take the bashing for being simpletons. You guys deserve to be treated in a much better manner than this. TALK ABOUT LOW CLASS.
