Four burglaries reported on Main Street

Four burglaries on Main Street have been reported to Police within the last week and the RVIPF is now alerting residents in the area to be on the lookout for anything suspicious. Photo: VINO
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Police have recorded four burglaries within the last week on Main Street after no reported burglaries in this area for many months and want residents in the area to be on the lookout for anything suspicious.

A school and two businesses were entered in overnight burglaries within the last week, however, nothing was reported missing so far. One of the businesses was burglarised twice.

In two of the cases, entry was gained through the front door by prying open the door or taking off the hinges. In the third case, entry was gained through a back window.

Police have now increased their foot and mobile patrols in the area during the night.

Persons are encouraged to contact any officers at any station through its three-digit access number 311 if they see any suspicious activity within this area or have any information that could assist in identifying the perpetrator of this crime.

The information will be held in the strictest confidence.
