I am glad I got to tell her while she was alive, what her words and actions has done for me.
She will be missed.
Ecclesiastes 9:12 (NIV) Moreover, no one knows when their hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so people are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.
In a funeral service yesterday for the departed Fire Officer, a pastor fittingly said, the dead can’t hear so the service is for the living to come to repentance by examining their lives and developing a relationship with Christ.
Those who wish to live for God must seek Him in His Word. We must seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to apply the Word to our lives. Living for God means giving up ourselves and desiring God’s will above all else. As we draw nearer to God and come to know Him more, His desires will more naturally become ours. As we mature, our desire to obey God’s commands increases as our love for Him increases.
As Jesus said, “If you love me, you will obey what I command” (John 14:15).
How many are pleasing people, looking forward to the next jam, knowingly and enjoyably engaging in things that do not glorify God that on that day of Judgment can’t say God I didn’t know better.
We all have fallen but we can willingly decide to get back up and CHOOSE God over the devil’s temptations.
With all these social media challenges, I challenge you to get in the Bible daily, take some time to listen for God’s guidance, focus on a relationship with Him, examine if you were to depart this world now what things you’re doing that would cause God to say:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness’” (Matthew 7:21-23).
RIP to the young lady.
