ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Juliet Rodgers, aka ‘Yellow’, an individual who was well known in the Virgin Islands, has passed.

Yellow’ reportedly died on the night of December 22, 2025.

While many may have known Rodgers as someone who had a mental health issue, others remember her in her younger days as a boat captain and a vibrant and well-loved employee at Peter Island.

One of the people who has given a public tribute on the passing of Ms Rodgers is local businesswoman Maris Hodge-Wright.

“Many will see her death as just an oh well, she drank herself to death. There was another Yellow who most people did not know, one who before mental illness and addiction took over and dragged her down its dark tunnel, was a star.

‘A fearless young boat captain’

Hodge-Wright said she remembers Rodgers as a “fearless” young female boat captain.

“The one who was a force to be reckoned with. One who at the beginning of her illness would look me directly in my eyes and tell me with a doubt, "while you are using 2 to 3% of your brain power l am using 90% of mine.”

Hodge-Wright said Rodgers sailed yachts to Africa and Europe from the Virgin Islands and that she could break out of locked hospital rooms that were locked from the outside, “leaving doctors and nurses in the old Peebles hospital scratching their heads.

“This is the Juliet Rodgers I will choose to remember, the fiercely young woman who did not back down from any challenge. The one who loved her children and family with a passion. Many will remember the addict, l will remind you that she was much, much more than that,” Hodge-Wright wrote on her Facebook page on December 23, 2025.

'Dedicated, happy Peter Island employee'

Meanwhile, a John Campbell recalled Rodgers as “always a happy dedicated Peter Island employee back in the days”.

Mr Campbell also shared photos of Rodgers as an employee of Peter Island on the public Facebook platform, the Real BVI Community Board.

The Management and Staff of Virgin Islands News Online express sincere condolences to the family of the late Juliet Rodgers, aka ‘Yellow’.
