Forbes Hare are Cedar Corporate Champions
A tough semi-final battle with Tovel/Castlegate seemingly drained the boys and girls in red, even though they came out 2-1 victors on a blistering hot, windy day on the school campus.
Forbes Hare, to be fair, had an equally exhausting battle with Harney’s in their semi-final and had to go through the tension of a penalty shoot out after the game ended deadlocked at 0-0.
Ogier, led by a Simon Schilder hat trick, overcame Conyers/KPMG, 5-4, in a scintillating Plate final and lifted the “Cedar Stump” as their prize.
Reaching the quarter final stages had been arduous enough for the teams made up of employees from several of the territory’s trust, finance, legal and food and beverage companies, with Digicel topping group 4 and Harney’s second
Group 3 was won by Forbes Hare ahead of Maples, Group 2 went to Baker Tilly with AMS second and Group 1 saw Proudly African top the table ahead of Tovel/Castlegate.
The Golden Boot award was claimed by the effervescent Allesandro Palladino whilst MVP for the ladies was Ali Hamilton and for the boys, Manuel.
The day was hailed as a great success by the Parents/Coaches Organising Committee and went a long way to fulfill the expectations of raising funds for the schools upcoming trip to the International Beauclariat Football Tournament, which is being hosted in the Bahamas.
Two teams of boys and girls are making the trip to compete against ten other countries and all were on hand to help out on the day with manning the food and refreshments station, being ball boys, selling raffle tickets and even providing a car washing service.
The older high school players will also be heading off to play in a tournament to be confirmed at a later date.
