First District Representative rebukes spotlight seekers
“… unlike others who like to be in the spot light at all times, I let the actual positive results of my work speak for me,” Hon Fahie stated several times during his presentation as he delivered his annual report to his District on January 18, 2014 at the Capoon’s Bay Recreation Grounds..
“The work to improve the quality of life for our youth is a task that I take very serious.” Hon. Fahie related while adding, “Contrary to what others would want the populace to believe, it didn’t just start.”
Among other things he noted the participation of First District Youths in the Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP) as well as the district's over 40 basketball team’s participation in the Virgin Gorda league as being among some of his contributions.
According to Hon. Fahie, the activities foster positive social environments within the district.
“We must continue to speak positive words into each other lives especially our youth. Words are not wind, they have power. A bad word can hurt you. A good word can lift you up,” the First District Rep remarked.
"Unlike a few other leaders, Hon. Fahie commented, "the purpose behind what I do in this district and the Territory is not just for show."
“It is not for a mere vote come election time. It is not to tear down others in order to build up myself. But rather to assist persons in keeping their hope alive so that they can fulfil their God given purpose for existing.”

Okay, you had past accomplishments. You were applauded at the time. People know. So why must you continuously ask for a pat on the back? As long as you are consumed with jealousy and hate you can no longer focus on what the country needs. We don't need to be reminded of your accomplishments. It does us no good. Zero. Zip. Focus on doing something good for the country today. Work together with the party in power to set goals and accomplish things for the greater good. I fail to see how you think it beneficial to waste your time as the representative for the first behaving, day in and out, like a little child. I remain hopeful that your party leader will speak up and put an end to your complaining. I am sick and tired of your whining and I hope that the people who voted you in are becoming wearisome too. In my opinion, if people's votes weren't enticed through deeds and money passing hands and if people voted with their heads and for persons that will work for the greater good of the BVI, then a significant number of the present day politicians would be out of a job. Furthermore, all persons should be at large to put an end to the favoritism and passing of the buck to friends and supporters. Despite you being a first district representative, you work for ALL persons of the BVI. Please, start behaving like a person of responsibility. Adopt some integrity. Do some soul searching into what the job of a politician should be and begin acting like a grown-up who cares about all of his neighbours, his community, his country.
