Fire officer seriously injured in motor scooter accident @ Hope Hill

HOPE HILL, Tortola, VI- Information reaching Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) is that an off-duty fire officer was reportedly seriously injured in a motor scooter accident at Hope Hill on Monday, April 18, 2022.

It is unclear the circumstances surrounding the mishap or if any other vehicles were involved; however, the injured man was found at the side of the road around 7:00am.

Our newsroom was told that the fire officer was taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital and is in serious condition.

      I heard that the person who hit him called for help and the paramedics took him to the hospital. Not a hit and run. I hope he pulls through, PRAYERS going up for him.

    Hope everything turns out well for him. Once you have to be transported to a overseas facility for treatment it is serious.

      Agreed.
      Sometimes the local hospital doesn't have the necessary equipment or talent to deal with certain injuries .
      BVI please keep him in your prayers.

      God Dont like ugly , But i know he didnt do that to himself. The type of injuries he has ,somebody hit him. WHOEVER DID THIS, PLEASE PRAY TO GOD OR WHOEVER YOU BELIEVE IN THAT HE WILL PULL THROUGH. IF NOT, THE BVI WILL BE IN FOR A SERIOUS RECKONING.

        They messed with the wrong one ! This is the same thing that happen to the young man couple years ago. "Circumstances is unclear ". Then couple weeks later , the young man turned himself into authorities . What ever sick thinking yall have against bikers , Stop it ! There are actually some decent bike riders around. Its all fun and games until its your own .

    I hope and wish the best to the man. Whoever, yes whoever hit this man could have at least call for medical help. They just left him laying on the side of the road like a piece of garbage. That is not right.I’m telling you all there is someone here that have it out for scooter and bike riders and will get them any chance they can and make it look like a accident.

    It a serious thing and thanks for the health care provider at the hospital EMT, AEMTand Paramedics who are on their toes these last days with these scooter accidents we pray for them also, sp health care keep your skills and knowledge up you are the best we know

        Stop your fuxary not a sould out to get riders. If he was hit and it was a accident as stated accident the person who left is wrong and heartless even of they panic at least come forward. If he the rider was mux in anything, we dont kno of still not right. So be it a accident or wilfull act not good at all. There is no one targetting riders that will be the day BVI have a serial bike killer lol chupes

    Based on the comments it appears vehicle drivers and boat captains are leaving the scenes of their collision accidents more and more. At least there is a charged defendant in the fatal yacht collision last year.
