GREENLAND, Tortola, VI- Quick response by officers of the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services prevented an entire home at Greenland from possibly going up in flames yesterday afternoon, August 16, 2022.

The cause of the fire is unknown to our newsroom at this time; however, sources said it started in a storage area affixed to the home.

This information was also confirmed by Chief Fire Officer Mr Zebalon A. McLean.

Mr McLean said his officers were able to extinguish the blaze; however, most of the contents of the storage area were destroyed.

"The Officers prevented it from moving into the main house," Mr McLean noted.

Sometimes I wonder if there are any laws in this place. People brining fires from Monday to Sunday, weed whacker swinging on Sundays, Excavator working from sun up to sun down on Sundays, loud muffler bikes up and down into late hours in the night, spanish bars with loud music pass midnight, cattle and goat parading the street eating down everything you planted and the list goes on and on. Who are we suppose to complain to about all these nuisances.
