BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Two vessels were destroyed in an early morning fire at Omar Hodge Fisherman's Wharf in Baughers Bay today, Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
According to reports reaching our News Centre, the fire was noticed sometime after 4:00 AM, and the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services Department was alerted.
Chief Fire Officer Zebalon A. McLean confirmed the reports and shared that Fire & Rescue received the first call about the fire around 4:30 AM.
Mr McLean disclosed that two vessels were destroyed. One of the vessels had two 400HP engines fitted, while the other also had two engines attached.
Fire officers managed to extinguish the blaze around 6:00 AM.
