VI sailors dominate in USVI

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Ten Virgin Islands’ (VI) sailors raced in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands (USVI) last weekend, January 14-15, at the 2017 MLK Regatta, with Kael Chalwell, Rayne Duff and Sam Morrell all topping their classes, Opti Green, Opti Championship and Club 420 respectively.

Strong performances from local Sailors @ MLK Regatta

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Ten Virgin Islands’ sailors raced in the MLK Regatta in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands over the weekend of January 9-10, 2016, with two days of light, shifty and unpredictable wind. It was a strong, sportsman-like performance from all of the sailors, with the newest addition to the race team showing that he will be one to watch for the future.

VI sailor Sam Morrell for Youth Olympics

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - With a resounding third overall finish in the 2014 Byte CII North American Championships last week Sam Morrell became the first Virgin Islands sailor to qualify for a Youth Olympic yachting berth.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Although both won two races Sam Morrell was pipped at the post by Paige Clarke of the USVI and had to settle for second place in the Royal BVI Yacht Club’s Annual Back to School Regatta.
