DDM continues to ‘closely’ monitor seismic activity in region
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- With daily earthquakes in the Puerto Rico/Virgin Islands region, some of which have been felt in the [British] Virgin Islands, the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) has been monitoring the situation closely while urging the public to have their emergency plans in place, including in the event of a tsunami.
Private sector urged to get emergency plans in place
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- While government is doing its part with those in its employ by promoting disaster preparedness and awareness, the private sector is also being urged to take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of employees.

7 earthquakes occur near Virgin Islands
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- New information from the Puerto Rico Seismic Network has shown that a series of earthquakes occurred near the Virgin Islands last evening November 12, 2011.
