JvD to get first museum! Roy Caldwood Heritage Museum breaks ground
GREAT HARBOUR, Jost van Dyke, VI- A historic moment unfolded on Saturday, November 15, 2025, as residents and supporters gathered atop Buffalo Hill to break ground on the Roy Caldwood Buffalo Soldier Heritage Museum. It will be the first museum ever constructed on the island of Jost van Dyke. Long envisioned and deeply anticipated, the project will honour the life and legacy of 103-year-old Buffalo Soldier Roy J. Caldwood while preserving and celebrating the rich history, culture, and people of the island.

PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI- A symposium to honour World War II veteran and Bronze Star recipient Roy J. Caldwood, who has strong roots in the Virgin Islands, will be held today, Thursday, November 13, 2025, at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) in Paraquita Bay.
