FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- Former Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation Commissioner Calvert White was sentenced Thursday, January 22, 2025, to 60 months (five years) in federal prison, followed by 36 months (three years) of supervised release, after being convicted of honest services wire fraud and bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds.

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, USVI- On Friday, prosecutors and Calvert White's defense counsel filed their suggestions ahead of the January 22 sentencing hearing for the former Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation Commissioner convicted last year on fraud and bribery charges. Prosecutors have recommended a sentence of 151 months for Mr. White, a timeframe they declare is “at the low end of the applicable guideline range” for his offenses.

So did Jenifer O'Neal, former director of the Office of Management and Budget, Ray Martinez, former commissioner of the Virgin Islands Police Department, and Benjamin Hendricks, owner of A Clean Environment, which does business with the government.
