DDM warns VI to brace for above average 2025 Hurricane Season
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI—The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) is urging residents of the Virgin Islands to begin early preparations for the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season, which meteorologists warn is likely to be significantly more active than average.
Record-setting 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season ends
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Atlantic Hurricane Season officially ended on November 30, 2024. With 18 named storms and 11 hurricanes with five major hurricanes causing damage around the Atlantic and Caribbean; 2024 was the ninth consecutive above average hurricane season.
