Sam to pass East of Bermuda; Victor less likely to become hurricane- DDM
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- As of Friday morning, October 1, 2021, Category 4 hurricane Sam was the most powerful storm on the planet, packing 145-mph winds and churning 450 miles to the south-southeast of Bermuda and moving north-northwest at 15 mph.
Hurricane Sam pushing near 130mph sustained winds- NHC
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Data from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft has indicated that maximum sustained winds from Hurricane Sam have increased to near 130 mph (215 km/h) with higher gusts.
UPDATE: Sam remains a Category 4 Hurricane
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Based on current information and analysis, Hurricane Sam is expected to pass at a safe distance away from the Leeward Islands and [British] Virgin Islands between Tuesday, September 28, 2021, and Wednesday, September 29, 2021, with little or no wind impact to the islands.
