Farmers renew call for “action” on water woes [Photoslide Included]
PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI – While the poor support for Farmers’ Week 2012 was acknowledged by many, participating farmers themselves have expressed concern while calling for “action” not just words to address the main issue affecting them from propelling forward in the industry - water.
VI can market home grown products – Minister
PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI – “The Virgin Islands have a thriving tourism industry, and I am sure that we will recognise that this provides for us a ready market for home grown agricultural products...we have many opportunities that we can access and we need to exploit these opportunities,” declared Minister for Natural Resources and Labour, Dr. Kedrick Pickering at the opening of Farmers’ Week at Paraquita Bay on Friday February 10, 2012.
