Unity Gov’t slammed for ignoring concerns with Register of Interests bill
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Virgin Islands Civil Service Association (VISCA) has slammed the National Unity Government of Premier Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) for trying to swiftly pass the Register of Interests Act in the House of Assembly (HoA) despite the many concerns by both HoA Members and public servants and the lack of consultation on the Bill.

DUFF’S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI- While debating the Register of Interests Act, 2022, during today’s June 30, 2022, Fourth Sitting of the Fourth Session of the Fourth House of Assembly, Fourth District Representative, Hon Mark H. Vanterpool argued that the bill is in need of more legal advice in addition to public involvement.
Register of Interests Act to be amended to assist CoI
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Reiterating that it welcomes a transparent and accountable Commission of Inquiry (CoI) in the Virgin Islands (VI) that will allow for a ‘just outcome’, the Government of the VI has announced it will be making an amendment to the Register of Interest Act, 2006 to allow information to be shared with the CoI.
