Marijuana regulations approved in USVI; UK still blocking VI’s Cannabis Bill
FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- In a significant step forward for the US Virgin Islands' cannabis programme, Governor Albert A. Bryan Jr has signed off on comprehensive rules and regulations governing the use and distribution of marijuana in the territory. Meanwhile, as the USVI motors forward with its cannabis laws, the United Kingdom (UK) continues to block the [British] Virgin Islands’ Cannabis Bill.

DUFF'S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI – Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) has said that as a result of the hold-up of the Cannabis Bill, passed since June 2020 in the Virgin Islands House of Assembly (HoA) for the territory to establish a medicinal marijuana sector, the territory has already lost some potential investors.
UK's hold up of cannabis bill a slap in face of local legislators- Skelton-Cline
BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI – On the heels of statements from Governor Augustus J.U. Jaspert that the hold-up of the Virgin Islands' cannabis legislation was as a result of ‘line by line’ scrutiny by the United Kingdom, local radio moderator, Mr Claude O. Skelton-Cline says the reasoning indicates that both the Governor and the Crown are suggesting that the territory is clueless when it comes to crafting laws.
